The mission of the St. Gregory School physical education program is to produce well-rounded individuals through regular physical activity, emphasis on sportsmanship, and positive social interaction. The goal is to create a positive learning environment to encourage maximum participation. The curriculum is designed to develop skills and fitness to foster confidence, self-esteem, and moral character. The focus is on overall wellness which includes muscular strength, muscular endurance, cardiovascular endurance, flexibility, and body composition. The program offers a variety of opportunities to cater to the interests and abilities of the student body.

The students participate in physical education four days a week. The curriculum is set up in such a way that between every unit is a fitness week.

The entire school also takes part in the American Heart Association sponsored program Jump Rope for Heart. The program consists of students and staff raising money to benefit the American Heart Association. The program encourages students to be physically active and eat properly in an effort to minimize the risk of contracting a cardiovascular disease.  During the 2011-2012 school year the students of St. Gregory’s raised nearly $5000 for lifesaving research.
